What is body doubling?
A body double is an individual who serves as an anchor for a person to get tasks or work accomplished-(ICD 2003).
Some things that work well using body doubling include:
- Sorting paperwork
- Sorting clothes or other items
- Emptying a closet
- Making phone calls
- Putting tasks or appointments in a calendar, phone, computer
Body doubling can work for any tasks and is very effective. You may ask yourself, "why can’t I just do this myself?" You can, but if it is difficult for you and if you have not done yet, a body double can help.
Body doubling works well if you have a task that is difficult for you or you tend to procrastinate.
